Features
Video:
Widescreen anamorphic transfer which as usual results in a
pretty sharp picture. There is some film grain present, but
its supposed to be there as that's the look the director was
obviously. Also, a good portion of the movie has a bluish
tint to it, again, this is how the director wanted it.
Audio:
Dolby Digital 5.1 used extremely well here. Although you get some gunshots and
explosions, the true beauty of this sound track is in the subtle use of ambiance
to really put you in the scenes. The L train passing by and things like that are
done exceptionally well.
Extras:
Hold me back. A couple trailers and a short behind the scenes
piece that's not worth looking at.

Quick Take
A
movie where it's OK to cheer for the bad guy! We don't get enough
of these in the theaters for my taste. It reminds me of one of my
all time favorite computer games, Dungeon
Keeper 2.. it's good to be bad.
Mel
Gibson plays Porter, a small time robber who gets cheated out of
$70,000 in a most rude way, and he wants his money back. This is
a fantastic revenge movie and you'll find yourself grinning widely
as he one ups the bad guys time after time. He really is a ruthless
son of a bitch, and we love him for it!
The
movie isn't perfect though as it seems to drag in a few places which
is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. Even so, the movie is well
worth watching if for nothing but its quirky change of pace.
Oh,
and Lucy Liu's character is great! Hubba hubba...
