Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever

Everyone pretty much hated this movie when it hit the theaters, and it’s not any better on DVD.

First of all forget everything you remember from the previews. The whole “agent vs. agent while looking for a top-secret nanotech assassination machine” isn’t what happens in this movie. My theory is that the producers saw what a turkey they had paid for and knew they only money that would ever be made on this film would be on opening weekend, so they cut a trailer and flat out lied about the plot to try and get guys to go see it. Fortunately most guys (including us) didn’t fall for it.

Now that it’s on DVD we wanted to give it a shot since it does have lots of guns and explosions. Unfortunately, that’s all it has going for it.

The plot, if you can call it that, is weak to say the least. Very slim storytelling, and you won’t know jack about certain plot elements even when the final credits are rolling. It’s just stupid. Things do blow up a lot though, and they aren’t shy about using guns.

If you want totally mindless action then give this one a rent, otherwise stay away.
