February Movie Releases

Is summer here yet? One look at the upcoming movie releases should answer that one. Here's a peak at the guy movies coming down the pipe, there are a couple of nuggets but overall we're having a hard time getting excited:

Boogeyman - Feb. 4 - Do we really need another PG-13 horror movie? The average teenager see's more violence in 5 minutes of their favorite videogame than they do in the horror movies Hollywood is coughing up lately. What is accomplished by avoiding the R-rating if the teenagers you're trying to accomodate stay home because they know it's lame?

Hitch - Feb. 11 - We like Will Smith, but I think he may be trying to sneak a chick flick in on us here. He's the cool guy who teachs dorks how to get babes. Even if you haven't seen the trailer, I'm sure you can write the rest of the story yourself. You know this one is predictable. We're hoping all of the funny parts weren't in the trailer.

Constantine - Feb. 18 - This one is a wild card. Keanu Reeves stars in a super natural thriller. The trailer for this one is way out there. You may wanna sit tight and wait for our review on this Warner Bros. property. It could be very good, or...not.

Son of the Mask - Feb. 18 - We've already screened this one, thanks to our friends at New Line, and we were very pleasantly surprised. No Jim Carrey in the sequel, and it's a kids movie, but hey it's funny! We'll have a full review up for this one soon.

Cursed - Feb. 25 - We know very little about this film. But it is an R-rated werewolf movie. So you know we're all over it!

Man of the House - Feb. 25 - We love Tommy Lee Jones, and this is the type of quirky role we shake our head at when we read about it. But we fully expect him to pull off. He's a Texas Ranger assigned to protect a bunch of college cheerleaders by becoming their coach. Uhm, ok then! First big flaw we see is a PG-13 rating and no references to nudity.
