Is 2200 enough?
I saw a message from Joss Whedon yesterday indicating that Serenity will be playing on roughly 2200 screens. He didn't seem to think this was too small a number and indicated that you don't want to have it on *too* many screens since the audiences would be smaller and the experience would be diluted. I personally think that's a bunch of horse hooey. A release of this magnitude should be on 3000+ screens, in my opinion. Any less and the casual movie goers will not see this movie since there are others much closer to their location. Sure, the hardcore fans will go, but will that be enough to make this a profitable flick? Am I alone out here in thinking 2200 is way too few?
