Academy screws MFG again!
It's that time again Ladies and Gents, good old Oscar season. The time when Political correctness and fear of offending someone will always net you a gold statue no matter how uncomfortable you make the average viewing public while they witness your 'vision'. Hurray for Hollywood... Buttheads!
Do you think your favorites and mine got the recognition they deserve this year? Of course not and as usual it's a crying shame. How can they not see the greatness in 5 star movies like Revenge of the Sith and Batman Begins, and at the same time nominate something called Junebug? A crying shame indeed.
I will say this much for the beloved Academy, at least they did manage to get a couple of choices right, and I do mean a couple. Munich gets a best Picture nod, Walk the Line co-stars Joaquin Phoenx and Reese Withespoon are chosen for their outstanding portrayals of Mr and Mrs Cash which we certainly agree with, but the best nomination in our eyes had to be Terrence Howard for Hustle and Flow. There are were a couple more here and there that didn't make us want to vomit, but they are smatterings at best. Which leads me to the biggest crying shame of all Archedback Mountain. 8 Nominations about a really crappy story involving 2 gay cowboys starring two actors that aren't gay. WTF? Being PC is the order of the day for this year and all I can say is I hope one of those nominations isn't for sound, because contrary to popular belief those aren't sheep making those noises.
Here's JC's simple observation; If you are an actor and you portray a down trodden dullard, a retard, or a diseased gay person you are guaranteed to win. If you blow something up or make a movie starring Bruce Willis you get a bad critics appraisal quick trip to the land of DVD. Just wait and see, next year someone will play a Southern Retarded Lesbian cross dresser that makes hats and sells them on a freeway offramp and they will not only win the Oscar, they will get to be President someday. Pisses me off!
