No Screening, No Print Ad... Bloodrayne Might Just Suck

I'm used to studios not having a press screening for some of the types of movies we enjoy since most critics will royally trash some types of films. It is honestly a good gauge though as it's rare that a non-screened movie will get more than a 3 star rating, and sometimes that's being generous.

However, when I opened the paper this morning and looked in the movie section, I noticed there wasn't an ad for Bloodrayne. I look again thinking I must have missed it... but no, there's no ad.

So not only does the studio not think the movie is good enough for critics to see first, they also don't want to waste any money on print ads for it. I'm not sure I've ever seen that happen before as even the WORST movie will find some (possibly fake) quote to put with the ad to let people know it's "...best.. horror action... of the year!"

It appears that Bloodrayne might just suck after all.
