Saw III coming this Halloween
It really shouldn't surprise anyone that Saw III is being made, the franchise is just making too much money for them to stop. This isn't always a bad thing though as Saw II was an excellent flick, better than the first in many ways, so maybe they can keep the trend going for the third outing.
One problem though, and let me quote from the press release:
"We have been discussing story lines that extend the Saw franchise to new limits and beyond with Lionsgate for the past several months," said Burg and Koules. "The most important element of any franchise is remaining true to the roots of its success. We believe that we are developing a script that is certain to please the Saw franchises core fans while adding fresh, terrifying and unimaginable new twists to the Saw saga. Jigsaw himself would be proud."
What sticks out to you here? The phrase "extend the Saw franchise" really bothers me, especially when they are going to "please the core fans while adding fresh.. new twists to the Saw saga." I don't know, it just sounds like they might be trying to stretch the concept too far.
Hopefully I'm wrong and it'll kick ass.
At least it won't be in 3-D. Right?
