The Descent

The Descent heads to theaters this August and while I'm a little wary of it being called "the best horror-thriller since alien" it still looks pretty good to me. Not so sure about the poster though, I think they tried too hard.

From the press release:

THE DESCENT is Neil Marshall's hotly anticipated follow up to his 2002 hit DOG SOLDIERS. Directed by Marshall from his own script, it tells the story of an all-female caving expedition that goes horribly wrong, and stars Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder, Nora-Jane Noone and Myanna Buring. Set in a cave system deep in the Appalachian Mountains, Marshall describes his film as "DELIVERANCE goes underground".

I have this on dvd from britain and it is definitely the best horror movie to come out in years, not to mention extremely claustrophobic

Just thought I'd mention:

That "Six women in the shape of a skull" poster from THE DESCENT is a homage to this Salvador Dali/Philippe Halsman photograph.
