Borat’s driving instructor wants to get paid

December 5, 2007

Michael Psenicska was paid $500 to give a driving lesson on film to Borat, and he signed a legal release allowing the footage to be used. This was 2 1/2 years ago, and a year after Borat was released and went on to make a huge amount of money (over $300 million counting DVD sales.)

OK, yeah, he was mislead as to what the movie was about and I’m sure his friends razz him about being in the movie for only $500, but what’s his case here? He signed a legally binding agreement giving his consent, period. Other cases like this have been thrown out so I’m not sure why Michael thinks he’s gonna get paid.

Maybe he just wants more publicity and this is the best way he could think of to get it. After all, some people aren’t satisfied with just 15 minutes.
