Box Office Top 10; weekend of November 4th
November 6, 2007
The Top Ten grossing movies list from this past weekend holds no surprises save for maybe one. As expected, both American Gangster ($43+ million) and Bee Movie ($38 million) did quite well, but I was expecting the finishing order to be the other way around and by a fairly substantial margin due to the former’s extra long run length and the R rating.
Elsewhere in the Top Ten, last weeks winner, Saw IV has started its drop to obscurity and Dan in Real Life is struggling to stay in the top tier as well. The rest of the top ten is floundering around and they should probably all be arrested for loitering. Hanging around for far too long are The Game Plan, 30 Days of Night, Martian Child, Michael Clayton, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?, and Gone Baby Gone.
Here’s the full list plus the money totals this week for each flick:
1. “American Gangster,” — $43,565,135
2. “Bee Movie,” — $38,021,044
3. “Saw IV,” — $10,348,646
4. “Dan in Real Life,” — $7,870,196
5. “The Game Plan,” — $3,931,491
6. “30 Days of Night,” — $3,741,763
7. “Martian Child,” — $3,376,669
8. “Michael Clayton,” — $2,785,133
9. “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?” — $2,604,119
10. “Gone Baby Gone,” — $2,237,915
