DVD Quick Take
This is a classic car movie from John Carpenter based on the Stephen King novel. It is required viewing for “car guys”. I do not want to spoil the plot, and it’s hard to tell you much about it without doing so, but suffice to say Christine is a car that really has a lot of personality.
The picture quality is amazing on this considering the age. It’s very annoying that they will anamorphically enhance a movie like Christine which wasn’t exactly a box office hit, but yet virtually ignore larger movie titles. But such is the way of the studios and distributors. Anyhow, the picture quality on this is great, only gripe I can come up with is that it is a bit inconsistent, some scenes definitely look better than others.
The sound is nothing to talk about, it’s Dolby Digital 2.0, but totally mono, everything is right out of the center channel. And there are no extras at all, not even a trailer. If you’re a fan of this movie or just Stephen King in general, you’ll enjoy this DVD.
Seen it? How many stars do you give it?
