Getaway In Stockholm 3 is kinda like porn for car chase affecionados. There’s no plot here to get in the way. It starts out with a burn out and doesn’t stop until the credits roll.

Getaway In Stockholm

The premise here is simple. A driver gets into an Acura NSX and goes tear assing through the streets of Stockholm often at speeds well into 3 digits. He goes out of his way to tease the cops. At one point he pulls a quick U-turn just to blow right by an officer who is busy writing a ticket on the side of the road. However, it is not entirely accurate to call this a chase as the cops pretty much stand no chance.

The majority of the footage is captured from an in-car camera, a front bumper cam and a rear facing camera. There is also a helicopter which contributes some footage but has difficulty keeping up with the speedy Acura. The copter is also no doubt useful for alerting the driver to the location of police via radio.

This is supposed to be real and not staged. Although we wonder how they avoid getting traced down and thrown in jail either via the car or the DVD itself, we have no reason to doubt that this is real from the footage itself. The course is planned, and the entire route is choreographed. However, there is other traffic and pedestrians on what are obviously very open public streets, and there’s no doubt the NSX is being pushed to the limit.

We enjoyed this DVD immensely and have been forbidden to drive for at least 24 hours after watching it til our testoserone levels drop back to normal. Unfortunately, it’s not widely available. Currently the only place we know of to order it is from the maker’s website at www.getawayinstockholm.com. This is the third time these guys have done this. Based on the commentary on the DVD, we suspect they learned a lot from the first two and this is the best of the three. We hope to get a look at the first two installments soon, and we’re alredy looking forward to a fourth installment as well! We’d like to see some American V8 muscle in action…
