I was afraid this movie would suck, and I was pretty much right. There’s a token amount of action in the movie, but don’t be even slightly fooled.. this is a romantic drama to the core.
Harrison Ford plays Dutch, a sergeant in the Washington DC police internal affairs division. He’s happily going about his life busing bad cops when he learns his wife may have been on a plane that crashed on it’s way to Miami. In trying to track down if his wife really was on the plane he discovers that not only was she on it, she was on it with another man.
This revelation shatters his perceptions on what his marriage has been like for the last several years. How long has this been going on? Why was she cheating on him? How long had he been lied to? Why hadn’t he seen the clues?
His obsession with uncovering all the sorted details leads him to meet Kay (Kristin Scott Thomas), the wife of his wife’s lover. Well you already know from the previews that he tells her about it, she takes it kinda hard, but eventually these two hook up.
It’s a romance drama, just forget the action scenes are even there. If you are a really really big Harrison Ford fan go ahead and see it, otherwise just wait for a rental if even that. One warning guys, if you plan to use this movie to get on the good side of your date, keep in mind that it deals with adultery and you’re more likely to get into a long drawn out conversation than you are to get in the sack.
Seen it? How many stars do you give it?
