DVD Quick Take
Director John Frankenheimer set out to film chase sequences that in the future would be studied by any other director who wanted to do a great chase scene. He succeeded. The chase scenes in this movie are arguably the best ever put on film. And on DVD it does a good job of putting you right in the action.
The movie itself is very good as well. De Nero leads a group of freelance intelligence agents in stealing a very mysterious metal case. What follows is a brilliant well done action flick. There’s tons of gun play, explosions in addition to the magnificent car chases. And there’s actually a decent plot tying it all together.
The video and audio quality on this DVD are top notch. If you would like a good action DVD that goes “boom” to add to your collection that isn’t totally mindless, pick this one up.
Seen it? How many stars do you give it?
