DVD Quick Take
We had reservations about this movie because it smelled like a chick flick. As it turns out, there is indeed a bit of a chick flick subplot working, but what we get is your basic crime drama whodunnit kinda movie.
The DVD does a good job of reproducing the film. It is widescreen enhanced with no noticable flaws and the sound is Dolby Digital 5.1. And the DVD comes with a boatload of extras. Part of that is an alternate ending and some deleted scenes. From the deleted scenes, we do see that our initial fears would’ve been realized had the director not cut them. He eliminated alot of the relationship dreck between Travolta and Stowe’s characters and instead concentrated on the mystery and main storyline. We appreciate that!
If you’re a Travolta fan or just in the mood for a good tame crime drama without too much gore or darkness, this one isn’t bad. We will caution you that there is some rape action in there that might not make this a questionable date flick. We do not recommend pointing out how nice the chicks tits are to your date during the rape sequence.
Seen it? How many stars do you give it?
