The West Wing Season 3

It has been my experience that most of the people who don’t like The West Wing don’t like it because it’s “a bunch of liberal crap” or something like that. It’s also been my experience that these same people have never seen the show, or will claim that they “tried to watch one show and it pissed them off too much to continue.” It has always amused me that people will criticize things they know nothing about, whether it be movies, tv, politics or religion. But that’s another discussion for another day.
The West Wing gathered enough critical praise during its’ first season that I decided to give it a try during the second, and I quickly got hooked. The storylines are intricate and usually politically and historically accurate. Is there a liberal slant to the stories? Oh yeah, but contrary to popular belief it’s not as bad people think. When they present a political viewpoint they usually show both sides, and occasionally will give the upper hand to the conservative point of view. Overall I think the show caters mostly to the thinking independent more than Democrats.
In any case, if you give the show an honest viewing what you will find is first rate acting, writing and directing. The show rarely falters and does an excellent job of moving stories from one episode to the next. You also might learn something about politics or history along the way, but don’t worry, it won’t hurt.
You’re either going to love this set or hate it, and since I’m a fan of the show, I’m giving it a strong 4 star rating.
