DVD Quick Take

This is a WWII war movie that happens to be in space. The fighters have a nose that’s one giant rotating machine gun… the battle cruisers shoot torpedoes (that have to be manually loaded by some greasy guys below deck and leave trails of smoke… in space) and the overall feel is like Black Sheep Squadron.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked that show when I was a kid so I consider that to be a compliment! If you’re into serious science fiction then you’ll want to avoid this movie. The bad science will just drive you crazy as there’s at least 2 dozen technical flaws in the movie, and that’s without even looking hard.

On the other hand, if you just want to relax for a bit and enjoy a well done space combat movie with a flavor that’s quite unique, go ahead and checkout this DVD.
